HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – A cold front will stay over the Shenandoah Valley today, bringing the possibility of rain and thunderstorms. Where these storms form, locally heavy amounts of rainfall will be possible. The chance for rain will decrease on Sunday as drier weather is expected. A period of extreme heat and humidity begins Tuesday and will continue into the July 4th weekend. The hottest days will be Wednesday through Friday.

Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat.
