The event, held on Thursday, April 17, brought together business leaders, elected officials, and community members for an evening of celebration and recognition.

Breeden comes to the position with 19 years of experience working in skilled nursing/long-term care. She is a registered nurse and previously served the center as director of nursing before earning her NHA license in 2024. She was assistant executive director for nearly a year before being promoted in February. 

HPD Officers and RCSO Deputies will have collection boxes available in the parking lot of Valley Mall, located at 1925 E Market Street in Harrisonburg.

Harrisonburg City Public School Board members met with Congressman Ben Cline this week to discuss H.R. 899: The Termination of the Department of Education, a bill Cline co-sponsored.

Harrisonburg Public Works will host an open house Tuesday, April 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Harrisonburg City Council Chambers, 409 S. Main St.

The open house meeting will take place between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the Weyers Cave Community Center.

The 14th Annual School Food Drive reached a historic milestone, delivering 17,642 pounds of food (the equivalent of 16,791 meals) to individuals and families experiencing hunger. This year’s effort marks the largest collection to date, bringing the total number of meals provided since the drive’s inception in 2011 to 100,766.

Dr. Jeffrey W. Carter ’92, president of Bethany Theological Seminary, and The Reverend Carl Fike ’78, Church of the Brethren pastor, will serve as the College’s Commencement and Baccalaureate speakers for 2025, respectively.
