SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — On July 2, 2026, the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) was dispatched to a report of shots fired that occurred on Lakeview Drive, Woodstock, VA which led to an investigation

This reportedly led to SCSO obtaining a search warrant that was executed around 7:00 AM.

The following warrants were obtained and served on 23-year-old Daniel Ray McKinzie of Woodstock, VA:

  • Pointing/Brandishing a Firearm
  • Discharging a Firearm while in a Vehicle
  • Recklessly Handle a Firearm
  • Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place

McKinzie is being held without bond at RSW Regional Jail.

Investigators have determined that this arrest is related to another investigation that occurred in the Woodstock/Maurertown area. That investigation remains active.
