PAGE COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — A trial date has been set for the Page County man who was arrested in the spring in connection with a bomb investigation.

According to online records, a judge set a November 16th trial date for Russell Timonthy Ropka of Stanley during a hearing Wednesday in Page County Circuit Court.

The 40-year-old Ropka was indicted earlier this month on two felony counts of creating and using explosives in connection with an incident on May 16th at a home in the 14-hundred block of Lucas Hollow Road.

Deputies discovered Ropka’s  vehicle while searching the area and secured the neighborhood after spotting what appeared to be an explosive device inside.

Bomb technicians and an explosive K-9 retrieved the suspected device and rendered it safe.
