HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — A vehicle crashed into a Harrisonburg City School bus this morning, delaying students’ arrival by nearly an hour.

Shortly before 9:00 AM, first responders raced to the intersection of Erickson Avenue and Pear Street.

“This morning a vehicle collided with a school bus transporting students to Bluestone Elementary, causing minor damage to the back of the bus,” said School Division Communication Coordinator Kelly Lineweaver. “Harrisonburg Police Department officers on scene determined that no one was injured.”

Lineweaver said Harrisonburg’s Department of Public Transportation deemed the bus safe to continue operating, allowing the morning route to resume.

All students arrived safely at school.
