STRASBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — It is 16 years in jail for a Strasburg man stemming from a homicide that happened over 12 years ago.

Online records showed that James Edgar Callahan pleaded guilty back in February to three charges, including an amended charge of voluntary manslaughter as well as concealing a dead body.

A judge then sentenced the 50-year-old Callahan to 18 years in prison with only two years suspended during a hearing yesterday in Shenandoah County Circuit Court.

Callahan was arrested in September of 2023 in connection with the death of 45-year-old Michael Allen Holober, also of Strasburg.

Holober’s remains were found by a hiker in Pennsylvania in May of 2014.
