STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Staunton Police Department has identified victims related to the investigation on Betsy Bell Road. 

According to Sergeant Christopher Ammons, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at approximately 4:45 PM, the Staunton Police Department responded to the 300 block of Betsy Bell Road for an unknown medical emergency.  

28-year-old Makenna Smith and 36-year-old Joel Robinson of Staunton were found deceased inside a residence. 

At the time, Staunton Police advised residents to avoid the area. 

This appears to be an isolated incident, and no suspect is outstanding.
