AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Staunton man was arrested following a verbal altercation last weekend in the Weyers Cave area.

Augusta County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Leslie Snyder says shortly before 11pm Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office received a call for a report of a suspicious man that was at the lawn party and had gotten into a verbal altercation with another person at the event.

While en route to the scene, deputies encountered the vehicle the suspect was driving on Weyers Cave Road getting ready to enter Interstate 81 northbound.

The deputies stopped the vehicle on the ramp and arrested 26-year-old Antonio Martel Anderson II on four charges, including Driving on Suspended License, Obstruction of Justice, Driving Under the Influence with two previous convictions, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon under the Influence.

Anderson will appear in general district court on June 18.
