SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The superintendent of Shenandoah County Public Schools has announced she is stepping down.
Melody Sheppard made the announcement last week in a letter to families, stating that she has decided to resign from her position.
Sheppard wrote that she plans to continue working throughout the summer to help ensure a smooth transition and a strong start to the upcoming school year.
She did not state why she was resigning nor if she is taking a new position.
The resignation still needs to be approved by the school board at this month’s meeting.
