ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Rockingham County School Board approved Superintendent Dr. Larry Shifflett’s recommendation to award the bid for the construction of Rockingham Technical Center to the low bidder. 

Director of Maintenance Steve Reid said during the meeting that three firms responded with a bid. 

“Our recommendation is to award the contract to the low bidder, Nielsen Builders, Inc. Of
Harrisonburg, Virginia in the amount of $54,557,000,” said Reid.

Reid continued by saying that this will bring the entire project within the allocated funds. 

Reid added that Nielsen is planning on being on-site starting word toward the end of October.
