VERONA, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Verona man has been arrested following an Augusta County Sheriff’s Office investigation. 

On September 19, 2026, Lieutenant Leslie Snyder reports the Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into an alleged sexual assault between a juvenile and an adult male in Augusta County.  

“The Sheriff’s Office investigated the allegations, conducted interviews, identified the suspect and charged the adult male,” said Lieutenant Snyder.

The suspect, 62-year-old Colin Scott Kelley from Verona, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on September 22, 2026, and is currently being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

Kelley has been charged with the following:

  • Two counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery
  • One count of Abduction
