ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Rockingham County Public Schools Director of Maintenance Steve Reid provided an update on the construction timeline for the new technical center in Rockingham County during last night’s school board meeting. 

Reid went through the timeline from having the bid package coming out this Thursday to construction being planned to start on October 5, 2026. 

“Our substantial completion is scheduled for May 5, 2028,” said Reid. “With the final completion being May 19, 2028.”

Reid said the completion date is in May to give the technical center time to move equipment and be ready for that school year.
