HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Lieutenant Doug Ingold announced recently that he will be stepping down from his position as commander of the Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County for a new appointment in Memphis, Tennessee.
Ingold, who served in Harrisonburg for three years, reflected on his days in the Friendly City.
“We moved here and within a week to 10 days, we experienced the Friendly City. We started to get to know people. We were welcomed with open arms, and it was just beautiful. It was wonderful,” said Ingold.
Ingold’s last day of service in Harrisonburg will be June 21, 2026.
