HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg School Superintendent Dr. Michael Richards announced that Board member Emma Phillips will be running for the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Regional Vice Chair during last night’s work session. 

Phillips said the Chair is carrying the bulk of the responsibility of that work, and the Vice Chair will be stepping up when needed. 

“There’s some coordination that would happen around the regional meetings, specifically around the art show that happens within those regional meetings, and that falls under the purview of the Vice Chair,” said Phillips.

She also said that the Chair and Vice Chair set up any kind of regional events that the VSBA would pull together for the Valley.
