HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg Public Works announced on their social media page that there has reportedly been an increase in yard debris being placed out incorrectly or scheduled under the wrong collection type, which can result in items being left behind.

Before scheduling your pickup, remember:

  • Yard debris must be placed in lawn paper bags, bundled and tied with string or in a 35-gallon or smaller container
  • Limb/branches cannot exceed 4 feet in length and must be bound with string or twine
  • Limit of 15 lawn bags
  • Yard debris pickups must be scheduled as a Yard Debris reservation through ReCollect, not bulk.
  • All reservations must be made by 12 p.m. on the business day before your collection day.
