HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) –

It appears that former Turner Ashby High School choir director Wesley Dunlap must pay $225,000 to a former student.

According to a court order filed Monday in U-S District Court in Harrisonburg, Dunlap and the student, only identified as John Doe, agreed to a settlement back on February 9th.

The student filed $100 million lawsuit back in July of 2021 just after the 42-year-old Dunlap pleaded guilty to two counts of an indecent act with a child while in a supervisory capacity and was sentenced to two years in prison.

The original lawsuit had included the Rockingham County School Board, T-A principal Phil Judd and guidance counselor Sandy King, and while a judge had dismissed them form the lawsuit, yesterday’s order does not waive the rights of the student to file an appeal.
