AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — On June 12, 2026, at approximately 11:32 PM, a Deputy with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office was running radar on Interstate 64 when a vehicle entered radar at 95 MPH in a posted 70 MPH zone. The Deputy activated his emergency lights and siren and attempted to catch up to the vehicle. The suspect vehicle turned his headlights off and increased his speed.
The suspect vehicle allegedly entered Interstate 81 northbound, then exited the interstate onto Jefferson Hwy heading towards the City of Waynesboro. As the suspect vehicle entered the City of Waynesboro, Waynesboro Police Department and the Virginia State Police took control of the pursuit. A short time later the suspect vehicle crashed into multiple utility poles and then fled the scene on foot.
19-year-old Thomas Logan Lloyd of Stuarts Draft is currently wanted for multiple felony charges and a misdemeanor charge as a result of this incident.
The following day, June 13, 2026, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve the outstanding warrants on Lloyd at a residence located off of Breezewood Dr. in Staunton. When the Deputies made contact with Lloyd, Lloyd again took off on foot into the adjacent woodland area and avoided an arrest.
A large law enforcement presence was in the area for several hours attempting to locate Lloyd, and was unsuccessful.
