PAGE COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — An armed suspect is in custody after an incident late last night in the Luray area.

At 11:55 Sunday night, the Page County Sheriff’s Office alerted the public to a heavy law enforcement presence in the Rocky Branch and Shenk Hollow Road area due to an unspecified event involving a suspect who was reportedly armed and dangerous.

At the time, residents were asked to remain indoors, lock all doors and windows, and to stay away from the area until further notice.

At 1:14 this morning, Sheriff Chad Cubbage reported that the suspect had been taken into custody without incident and pending investigation, and that there is no longer a threat to the community.
