WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The City of Waynesboro has awarded full or partial funding to 14 local businesses and organizations through the Building Opportunities to Support Tourism (BOOST) Grant Program, following a record number of applications. The BOOST Grant Program reportedly provides reimbursable grants of up to $3,000 to support the marketing of tourism-related events, attractions, and initiatives that encourage visitation to Waynesboro.

“We’re excited to support another outstanding group of tourism partners through the BOOST Grant Program,” said Stephanie Duffy, Assistant Director of Economic Development & Tourism for the City of Waynesboro. “Each of these projects brings something different to the visitor experience, and together they encourage people to spend more time exploring Waynesboro. It’s exciting to see so many organizations investing in ideas that strengthen our tourism economy.”

A four-person committee comprised of city employees and a representative from the Virginia Tourism Corporation reviewed applications for the program. This year, $15,000 in total funding was awarded, with all 14 applicants receiving full or partial funding.

The 2026-2027 BOOST grant recipients are Augusta County Rail Road Museum; Bowman House Bed and Breakfast; Chili, Blues, and Brews; Common Wealth Crush; Fall Foliage Art Show; Hiker Fest; Inspiration Station; Lightwell Survey; Riverfest; The Foundry at Basic City Beer Co.; The Russell Museum; Rusticae; Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing; and Valley Alley.
