HARRISONBURG VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Two weeks after the initial outbreak, the U-S Forest Service is reporting that four of the five wildfires still burning in the region are now completely contained.
In an update last night, rangers said that the Brush Run Fire in Rockingham County and the Serenity Ridge Fire in Page and Shenandoah counties have both reached 100 percent containment.
It’s a similar story in Hardy County, West Virginia, where the Cove Mountain and Waites Run fires are under total control as well.
The Forest Service says that the Waterfall Mountain Fire in Shenandoah National Forest is 98 percent contained.
As we’ve reported, nearly 16-thousand acres of forest land have burned in the last 14 days.
