ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Shenandoah man wanted on multiple larceny charges is now in custody after allegedly breaking into a building in Rockingham County.
Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson reports that Shawn Alan Shifflett was arrested yesterday in Staunton on one count of Breaking and Entering a Dwelling with Intent to Commit a Felony and one count of Destruction of Property.
Hutcheson says the charges date back to last November, when authorities allege Shifflett broke into an undisclosed church to hide from police, knowing he had outstanding warrants for multiple thefts in the towns of Elkton and Shenandoah.
The 28-year-old Shifflett was scheduled to appear in Harrisonburg-Rockingham General District Court.
