STANLEY, Va – Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred last weekend in Page County.

Sergeant Brent Coffey report the crash appeared to have happened last Friday night or Saturday morning.

A Husqvarna T-E-6-10 dirt bike was traveling south on Kite Hollow Road near Balkamore Hill Road when it ran off the right side of the road.

The rider was thrown from the dirt bike and collided with a large rock. A passerby discovered the rider and dirt bike on Saturday and notified state police.

The driver, 29-year-old Doug Burker of Stanley died at the scene. Coffey said he was not wearing a helmet. Coffey also said speed was considered a factor in the crash.
