HARRISONBURG, Va. — Spring may be less than a month away, but cold weather is not going anywhere yet.
Columbia Gas of Virginia says that is why it is still offering help with heating costs through its Low-Income Heating Energy Assistance Program. The deadline to apply is March 15th.
President and Chief Operating officer Jennifer Montague estimates that one-thirheating fuel assistanced of customers will qualify for these grants that come with no requirement for repayment.
She says individuals who make up to 150 percent of the federal poverty line — an annual salary of $21,870 — are eligible for funding. For families, the total increases to about $45,000.
