RICHMOND VA: (WSVA) – Demonstrators descended on the grounds of the statehouse in Richmond yesterday with two very different messages.
In the morning, the Virginia Citizens Defense League – a Pro-Second Amendment Group – rallied outside the General Assembly building, holding signs and wearing buttons that read “Guns Save Lives.”
In the afternoon, the Virginia Center for Public Safety replaced those signs with ones calling for “safe storage laws” and no gun rights for domestic abusers.
New House Speaker Don Scott vowed to take it a step further in his chamber. Indeed, Albemarle County Senator Creigh Deeds has introduced a bill that would ban the sale, manufacturing an purchasing of assault weapons in the commonwealth.
