BROADWAY, Va. — The family of a young Rockingham County mother who died tragically the morning after Christmas is raising money, food, and other supplies for recovery efforts.
24-year-old McKayla Miller was killed in a single vehicle crash on Daphna Road near Broadway. Now, her uncle – Broadway Police Chief Doug Miller –is urging the community to help Miller’s fiancé and two young children get back on their feet.
Miller told WSVA that a bank fund has been set up at Farmers and Merchants Bank under the title McKayla Miller Memorial Fund. Folks are welcome to make monetary donations directly into this fund.
Miller said that he also plans to add on to his sister’s home to create a space where the bereaved family can stay, so donations of building supplies will be happily accepted.
To arrange donations directly, Miller says folks can call him at (540) 481-1188.
