HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Break out the rhinestones, pink, and your best Dolly-inspired look: the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA (RHSPCA) is joining Rootstock Wine Bar tonight, September 16, from 5-8 pm for Dolly Paw-ton Night, a playful community fundraiser benefiting local animals in need.

The evening will celebrate all things Dolly Parton while bringing animal lovers together to support the RHSPCA’s mission of Helping Pets and People. Rootstock has set a goal of raising $500 for the animals during the event.

Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion, and dogs can get in on the fun, too. Dolly Paw-ton Look-Alike Contest winners will be announced at 7 pm in three categories:

  • Best Dolly
  • Best Doggy Dolly
  • Best Duet

The event will also feature a Heartland Wines tasting from 5-7 pm, a Dollywood-inspired photo opportunity, and representatives from the RHSPCA sharing ways community members can support animals throughout the Shenandoah Valley.

The celebration comes during the RHSPCA’s One Gift, Twice the Hope September fundraising campaign. Throughout September, donations to the RHSPCA are being matched dollar for dollar as the organization works toward raising $50,000 to unlock an additional $50,000 match.
