WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Waynesboro City School Board has announced that they will begin the process of hiring a new superintendent by seeking public input on qualifications.

A survey has been created by the school board which can be found online here and also at the school board administration offices and each school.

The board will also be holding a public hearing to receive comments from the community at Waynesboro High School at 6pm on August 18.

“Finding the right superintendent to lead our school division is an important responsibility, and we want to ensure that the voices are reflected throughout the process,” stated Amber Lipscomb, the Chair of the School Board. “We encourage parents, staff, students, and community members to share their thoughts and priorities by completing the survey and attending the upcoming public hearing. Your input will help inform the qualities and leadership experience we seek in our next superintendent.”

The school board selected the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) to assist the board
with the superintendent search.
