ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — A new mountain coaster is now open at Massanutten Family Adventure Park.

The “Mountain Mayhem” coaster stretches 3,380 feet and descends 2,156 feet of mountainside terrain, featuring two 360-degree spirals and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Each ride lasts about six minutes, with riders able to control their own speed for either an adrenaline-filled run or a more leisurely trip. The coaster can reach speeds of up to 25 mph.

Single- and double-rider options are available. Riders under 13 must share a two-seat toboggan with a guest who is at least 13 years old, and children under 5 feet tall must ride with an adult. Children younger than 4 are not permitted. The combined weight limit for each toboggan is 350 pounds.

Massanutten is also offering combination packages that pair a coaster ride with activities such as the Mega Zip Line, climbing walls, Quick Flight jumps and tubing. Individual coaster tickets will cost $18 for a single rider ages 13 and older, or $24 for one adult and one child sharing a double-rider seat.
