DAYTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Virginia Quilt Museum in Dayton will present their exhibition Stitching Together History: 250 Quilts Commemorating the Commonwealth of Virginia tomorrow, July 4, 2026.

This exhibition celebrates the people, places, events, and ideas that have shaped Virginia’s history through collection of quilts created by fiber artists from across the United States.

Executive Director Alicia Thomas said the exhibit is visually compelling.

“But it is also, it’s history by the people, which is one of the things I love about it. We didn’t give people topics,” said Thomas. “If people asked, we would suggest topics, but a lot of these are things that the artists came up with on their own.”
