A holiday Teddy Bear Drive for children in the Valley and central Virginia is back for its fourth year.

WHAT

Drive founder Justin Harpine told WSVA that last Christmas, the drive raised about 500 toys for kids at U-V-A Children’s Hospital and Charlottesville’s Yellow Door Foundation, as well as local shelters on this side of the mountain.

Donation-wise, he is asking for two specific items: stuffed animals and Lego sets.

However, Harpine says the drive’s growing popularity means that he may have more donated toys than he can give away. He asks the community to contact him with ideas for donation locations where the gifts will be appreciated.

Harpine’s personal cell phone number is (540) 271-6116.

WHERE

Folks can drop off donations at Lakeside Book Company, Harrisonburg Honda and Hyundai, and Shenvallee Golf Course.

The Rockingham County Fairgrounds will also have drop-off boxes on site during its Christmas Village event.
