HARRISONBURG, Va – House Speaker Mike Johnson is trying to build up support for his plan to keep the government running ahead of a shutdown deadline of Friday at midnight.

Sixth District Congressman Ben Cline said during a visit to Harrisonburg Radio Group on Monday that he hopes the speaker can get some conservative legislation through.

Cline added that he thinks the new speaker is off to a great start as far as uniting everybody as well as charting a conservative course moving forward.
