Richmond VA: A new report shows that progress in bolstering women’s health in Virginia has stagnated.
In fact, the commonwealth ranks 14th among states in the latest America’s Health Rankings report on the Health of Women and Children.
Maternal mortality in Virginia increased to almost 27-percent in the last year and Dr. Lisa Saul with UnitedHealthcare says a healthy pregnancy boils down to healthcare access. The report stated that there were modest declines in health outcomes, clinical care and health behaviors did improve.
