WASHINGTON, DC – Virginia U-S Senator Tim Kaine spoke out about the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine that has now claimed the lives of 18 people and injuring 13 others.

Speaking to reporters Thursday morning, Kaine said his heart was broken at the news and he feels for his Senate colleagues from Maine, saying he has been through so many tragedies like this in Virginia and throughout the country.

Kaine was governor in April of 2007 when the tragic shooting at Virginia Tech happened.

Meanwhile, the manhunt continues for suspect Robert Card, a 40-year-old Army reservist with documented mental health issues.
