A trial date has been set for the Harrisonburg man who is accused of assaulting a Virginia State Police trooper earlier this year.
A Rockingham County Circuit Court judge set a trial date of February 21st for Alberto Bravo Junior after he was indicted on eight charges during a grand jury hearing this week.
Those charges stemmed from an incident on March 19th. A trooper was positioned at an emergency crossover on Interstate 81 at around mile marker 242.
Sergeant Brent Coffey explained shortly after Bravo’s arrest that a car pulled into the crossover and the female driver asked for help because Bravo, who was a passenger in the car, was assaulting her.
Among the charges Bravo faces include three counts of child abuse/disregard for life and attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
