A Staunton woman is facing charges after an alleged hit and run Tuesday morning involving a city employee.

Staunton Police Sergeant Butch Shifflett said that it happened shortly before nine o’clock in the 200 block of East Beverly Street.

He said 55-year-old Dorothy Thomas was located and arrested a short time later. She was charged with felony hit and run causing injury as well as driving on a suspended license.

Thomas is free on bond.
