HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Sunnyside Communities is the first retirement community in Virginia and only the second in the nation to introduce BrainGymAI, an interactive cognitive training experience designed to keep residents mentally sharp, engaged, and active.

BrainGymAI reportedly offers residents a hands-on, personalized experience that strengthens memory, focus, coordination, and problem solving through interactive challenges that are both engaging and enjoyable.

“This is not about testing cognition. It is about exploring it,” said Annie Shaffer, Director of Wellness at Sunnyside Communities in a release. “We want residents to feel encouraged, curious, and confident as they engage with something new.”

When Sunnyside’s Vitality Center opened, Shaffer left room for future innovation, anticipating that new tools and technologies would emerge to support resident wellness in new ways.

“We knew something like this would come,” Shaffer said. “We just did not know exactly what it would look like yet. When we found BrainGymAI, we knew it was the right fit for our residents.”
