SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) announced on their social media page that there have been multiple reports across the region of packages, specifically packages with cell phones from T-Mobile, being stolen off of a UPS truck before the UPS driver has made it to the destination to deliver the package.

SCSO believes this is an organization that is somehow receiving a list of tracking numbers, and the organization is sending someone to our area to intercept the package. The suspect(s) are reportedly approaching the UPS driver, claiming to be the rightful owner of the package, and providing the driver with a false email confirmation.

If you are ordering a phone via UPS or another carrier, be aware that this is occurring throughout the region. Pay close attention to your tracking information. Never share your personal information and avoid clicking suspicious links.

If you ordered a cell phone and it has not been delivered to you, but tracking states it was delivered, contact law enforcement, the company with which you placed the order, and the organization responsible for the shipment.
