FAIRFAX, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE: (3:51 PM) The bomb threat at Fenwick Library has ended. No devices were found after an extensive search by law enforcement. It is safe to return to normal operations. Fenwick Library will remain closed for the rest of today.

ORIGINAL STORY: George Mason University (GMU) reported today at approximately 1:00 PM that the Fenwick Library is closed until further notice to allow University Police to investigate a potential bomb threat.

According to an online post, people are encouraged to evacuate Fenwick Library and stay away from the area.

“This threat has not been confirmed. An investigation is being conducted out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of public safety. Please follow the direction of law enforcement and/or emergency personnel,” stated GMU.
