HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – The City of Harrisonburg will implement a temporary overnight road closure on South Main Street in Downtown starting tonight at 9 p.m. and lasting until approximately 6 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, to allow access to underground communications infrastructure.
According to a release, crews will access communications manholes located within the intersections of South Main Street and East Market Street and South Main Street and Elizabeth Street starting this evening at 9 p.m. South Main Street will be closed between Water Street and Wolfe Street during the work. The closure is expected to conclude early Friday morning.
Motorists traveling through Downtown during this time should follow posted detours or avoid the area if possible.
