WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — A fiery crash shut down interstate traffic this morning in the Waynesboro area.
At 9:38 a.m., the Waynesboro Fire Department reports that crews responded to an accident on eastbound I-64 near mile marker 96 that resulted in a vehicle fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found occupants outside of the vehicle.
The blaze was brought under control by 9:53 a.m., and the roadway was opened as quickly as possible.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Virginia State Police.
