WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Waynesboro woman who was arrested earlier this year for depositing other people’s checks into her account has pleaded guilty.
According to online records, Janis Leigh Vicars pleaded guilty to a pair of felony counts of forgery during a hearing this week in Waynesboro Circuit Court.
Authorities were contacted back in July regarding the nine checks that Vicars had deposited into her account between December of last year and this past June using various ATM’s.
The total amount of the checks was over a thousand dollars and she was arrested on October third.
The 46-year-old Vicars will be sentenced on March 18th.
