HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — A date has been set for a preliminary hearing for the Harrisonburg man charged in connection with an indecent exposure and carjacking incident that occurred last summer.
According to online records, a preliminary hearing date of January 20th was set for Tevin Edwin White during a hearing Tuesday morning in general district court.
The 30-year-old White faces four counts of indecent exposure and a carjacking charge after Harrisonburg Police were called to the Valley Mall on July 19th for a report of a man exposing himself inside the Books-a-Million store.
Captain Chris Monohan said at the time of his arrest that when officers arrived, White had left but they were obtain surveillance video.
“When officers arrived, the suspect was no longer on location, but a description and video footage of the mail was obtained,” said Captain Monohan. “Later that same day, the suspect also reported to have been engaging in indecent acts at the Kroger store, where additional video footage of him was recovered.”
Monohan alleged that White stole a vehicle that had been idling in the Kroger parking lot while the owner briefly entered the store.
He remains held without bond.
