HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes, and even small critters are available through area animal rescues and shelters, as well as opportunities to help homeless animals through foster programs, donations and help with fundraisers and other family-friendly activities. Contact Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA or a rescue near you to learn more.
Before introducing this week’s Pet of the Week, the RHSPCA wants to highlight Rose.
Rose received a special Pet of the Week feature last month, and the RHSPCA just received an update from her adopter. She is reportedly happy, she is home and is glowing on the couch.
“It seems this Rose has finally found the perfect place to bloom,” said RHSPCA Director Sara Stone.

Below are this week’s Pets of the Week:

Cat of the Week: Sushi
Sushi is a 12-year-old, 13-pound senior sweetheart who may be a little shy at first, but she is well worth getting to know. She has previously lived with another cat, enjoys dry food twice a day, and considers wet food a very special treat. Sushi is looking for a calm, loving home where she can settle in at her own pace and enjoy the comfort she deserves.

Dog of the Week: Port
Port is a big, lovable 77-pound gentleman who is seven years young. He absolutely shined during his recent photo shoot and was completely unfazed by passing cars, unfamiliar sounds, and all the activity around him. Port is a steady, lovely guy with a calm presence and plenty of heart.
