STAUNTON, Va. — A reminder for Staunton property owners that the first half of this year’s real estate taxes are due today.

In a release, city officials said residents can pay online or via mail, phone, or drop box. Folks mailing in tax payments should address the envelope to Staunton city treasurer Richard R. Johnson.

Of course, payments are accepted in person as well at City Hall.

By the way, the city’s online payment processor charges a fee of 2-point-35 percent for taxes paid with credit or debit cards. Watch out for that if your bill comes with multiple zeroes.
