STAUNTON, Va. – The City of Staunton has settled on a home for what will be a new Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court facility.
In a release this morning, city manager Leslie Beauregard said the city had reached a deal to purchase the Chestnut Hills Shopping Center – where the new court building will be constructed.
The city council approved the $1.75 million purchase of the site during a Thursday night meeting.
Beauregard called the new site “outstanding,” adding that the size and existing layout of the property could translate into other uses and services for the city.
She said the new facility should be open by fall of 2025.
