HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg man who was arrested earlier this year in connection with an animal cruelty case had one of his charges dropped.
According to online records, an animal endangerment charge against David Joseph Ligouri was dropped during a hearing Tuesday morning in general district court.
However, the 35-year-old Ligouri still faces two more charges, including animal cruelty as well as hit-and-run. He will back in court to face those charges on October 2nd.
On April 18th, authorities responded to Lowe’s on Linda Lane for a hit-and-run involving a dog.
After Harrisonburg Police received reports on social media detailing an act of animal cruelty related to the same incident, Ligouri was identified as the suspect and he was arrested on May 7th.
Incidentally, the dog, named Ralphie, remains at the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA.
