BRIDGEWATER, Va. — The voters have spoken: Leila Longcore is the Republican nominee for the Fourth District seat on the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors.
Longcor, a real estate agent by trade, defeated former Mount Crawford mayor Dennis Driver 185 votes to 178 during Saturday’s firehouse primary.
Speaking to WSVA News, Longcor offered a listening ear for those who supported her opponent. The candidate said she aims to be a voice for all of District Four, and residents of the district are welcome to contact her with any concerns.
Longcor said her signature issue is reinstating an after-school program in Rockingham County.
She is the heavy favorite to win the District Four seat during November’s general election.
