WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Waynesboro preschool teacher recently participated in the Virginia Department of Education’s “Kimochis: Train-the-Trainer” program.
Wayne Hills Preschool Center’s Amanda DePoy was among a select group of educators from across the state who were given the opportunity to present research and practicum projects to fellow trainers and VDOE leaders.
DePoy is now certified to equip 40 Waynesboro Public Schools staff members with what they need to integrate Kimochis program into classrooms within the division.
Kimochis uses learning tools, such as the “Mixed Bag of Feelings” and the “Feelings Pillows Guide,” to help children build self-awareness, empathy, and healthy communication skills.
