Folks in downtown Harrisonburg may notice a lot of intelligence on South Main Street throughout the day.

The Virginia Middle School Association’s annual conference is today at the J-M-U Festival Center. Middle school educators and administrators from across the commonwealth have gathered in the Friendly City for the one-day event.

They’ve come to hear a keynote address by Dr. Ann-McCarty-Perez, a 25-year veteran of education who’s authored books, worked as a college professor, and, of course, taught middle school.

The association says this conference is a chance to learn the latest and greatest happening in commonwealth middle schools.
