Virginia State Police are investigating a Friday morning crash on Interstate 81 near Harrisonburg that closed northbound lanes for two hours.

The incident was reported just before six o’clock at mile marker 244.

State police said a chain-reaction led to a multi-vehicle crash, which sent four people to Sentara R-M-H with minor injuries.

Traffic was detoured off of 81 North at Exit 243 until after 8 o’clock, causing overflow congestion throughout Harrisonburg.

Information is limited as the crash remains under investigation.
